Are you a nursing assistant interested in working in specialized palliative inpatient care?

The Palliative Care Unit PAVA at Östersund Hospital has 8 beds for specialized palliative inpatient care within the surgical division. At PAVA, you will meet patients with palliative care needs and their relatives. The care is person-centered, and the work is done in teams with nurses, doctors, and social workers. The team also includes occupational therapists and physiotherapists. In your daily work, you will be responsible for the care of four patients together with a nurse and a nursing assistant colleague.

As an employee, you will be involved in developing specialized palliative inpatient care in the Jämtland-Härjedalen region together with nursing assistant colleagues and staff from the specialized palliative home care unit Storsjögläntan. PAVA operates around the clock, and you will work night shifts as agreed. Weekend work occurs on two weekends every five weeks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You should be able to work independently to meet the individual care needs of patients. In dialogue with patients/relatives, provide support for optimal participation and strive for person-centered care based on a palliative approach.

Your nursing assistant duties include patient-centered care work. With structured working methods, you identify palliative care needs together with the team, implement and evaluate preventive measures. You are responsible for the daily care of the patient. You work in a team and collaborate closely with nurses, doctors, social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and dietitians.

Introduction will take place together with the lead nursing assistant.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a nursing assistant; if you also have a specialist education, it is an advantage. Interest in palliative care is important to us.
